A stocked dam 60 metres away

The farm dam is 60 metres from the cottage, covered in water lilies and stocked with bass, barbel and carp. Take a chair down to the bank first thing in the morning or late in the afternoon and see what bites.

It's an easy one for children too, with an adult close by, and the footbridge over the water is a good spot for photos.

Game, trails and birds

Game viewing

Wildebeest, zebra and antelope move freely across the farm and sometimes graze right past the cottage.

Drive the farm roads yourself, or sit on the stoep around sunset and let them come to you.

Self-guided

Walking, running & cycling

The farm's gravel roads and tracks are flat and free of traffic. Walk them with binoculars, run them at sunrise, or bring your mountain bikes.

Any fitness level works, since you set the distance.

Birding

The dam and the bush around the cottage have plenty of birdlife of their own.

For serious birding, Nylsvlei is about 40 minutes away. Read about birding near Nylsvlei.
